This month we asked Tony Penca, Product Manager of lighting about our new steel shades. Here’s the Q&A:

• What did you love about these shades, that made you want to reproduce them?
  • TP: We had the same reaction most people have when they see these shades for the first time; they’re cute. We saw original shades in our restoration department and felt they were perfect for the market.
• They are pretty cute. What other details inspired you?
  • TP: There are a few reasons actually:
    • They have an authentic industrial vibe
    • The black stripe was originally present on larger warehouse shades
    • The colors were bold and historically would have been offered on shades used in manufacturing environments.
    • The shape was simple and functional, directing light on to the work surface. For this reason, we like to think of them as the original spot light.
