One day I was walking through the warehouse and a passerby looked at me and said, “oh, it must be fall” when I gave her a puzzled look she said, “the hats and scarves are back”. Okay, admittedly I walk around the Restored Antique’s department looking pretty low-key: pants, cardigan, sneakers and hat are pretty much my uniform.

Looking at me, no one would probably guess that I have always longed for a glamorous, deco-inspired dressing room fit for only a 1930’s Hollywood starlet – Soft grays and purples, some fabulous glass knobs, a tufted round ottoman to put my sneakers on and for the lighting, of course an antique crystal wedding cake fixture full of sparkle.

When the announcement was made that our next store was going to be in Los Angeles, I jumped on the chance to start collecting and restoring fixtures that represented old Hollywood while still looking great in more modern settings. These fixtures were found in all sorts of commercial settings throughout the 1930s and not only provided needed light, but a ton of drama as well.
