Part of my job here at Rejuvenation is connecting with the media to promote our latest and greatest new products. We’ve got a bunch of really exciting new lights and hardware headed your way in early July, so I’m getting ready to travel cross-country to the Big Apple to play show & tell with some of our favorite editors, bloggers, and DIY t.v. show producers.
I’ve been doing these trips about twice a year for the past few years and this one is going to be the busiest one yet! It had me thinking about how it all got started…
I was headed “home” (I’m from Connecticut originally) for a vacation, and had plans to be in New York to visit my uncle. I had been working with Anthony Santelli, the Senior Home Editor from Martha Stewart Living, to supply products and images for the magazine, and we’d struck up a friendly dialogue via email. I offered to take him to lunch as a thank you for featuring Rejuvenation and the next thing I knew, I had 6 meetings with editors and the Rejuvenation press tour was born! Just. Like. That.
Fast forward to this trip: I am meeting with twenty-three different people this week and couldn’t be more excited about it! So you may be wondering, what is a press tour all about? In short, it’s me and a suitcase full of brand new Rejuvenation products, running all over NYC for four action packed days. I get to meet some truly incredible people, and get a behind the scenes glimpse into some of my favorite magazines and blogs. I plan to post daily while I’m traveling so tune in often to see where I am and who I met with. With any luck, I’ll be able to take some photos of the editors and their work spaces to share with you as well.
For now, it’s back to packing and buttoning up those last minute details before I catch my red-eye flight to JFK tonight. Talk to you soon!
