The hardest part of our MYHYO contest… a recap

…is picking a room to vote for!  So many of you poured your hearts and souls into your spaces, it was nearly impossible to pick the best.  Near the end of the contest, I sat down with Foley to talk over some of our favorites.

ANNE: I love this contest because I actually get to see people use our products!  When I help customers in our Portland store I get really excited about their space but then I never get to see how it turned out.

FOLEY: See, people just invite me over for drinks when they’re done with their remodel.

ANNE: Yeah, well, you’re special, aren’t you?  I hounded one customer with letters for three years to see how their Drakes turned out.

FOLEY: David in Richland, Washington brought in some preview photos for me before the contest even went live. I loved the story of the history of their home, and I was pumped to see pictures from of the “atomic kitchen”. That family was so nice and so excited about their fixtures.

ANNE: They didn’t invite you to drinks?

FOLEY: They drove down to our Portland store to talk about lighting… but it’s a bit of a commute for drinks. But they were really nice, and I will always remember that they are Trekkies because they were excited about having a sconce called the Enterprise.

ANNE: The Enterprise merits excitement!  Lisa in Santa Fe’s awesome trailer also merits serious excitement.

ANNE: I’ve worked with a number of old trailer crazies in my time at Rejuvenation, and I think they nearly have old house nuts beat when it comes to attention to detail.  (Know that I use the term “crazy” in the fondest way; Jim, the company’s owner, restored a trailer himself…)  The end result is something I would be proud to call home!
