Excellent job, Helen and Mollie.

This little cast iron device is used to attach small grommets to fabric and such.
One of my clearest memories from childhood was watching my grandma mend my grandpa's Wrangler western shirts.

And like I said, about a month ago I really could have used this little machine when a grommet that wasn't fastened tight enough pulled out of my favorite coat.

So I found your blog through the blog, Keep Smiling which I found through a post on Apartment Therapy!
I have a gluten, grain and sugar free blog- but I love love love to repurpose antique gems. I sell some good finds at my etsy site- peacock mercantiles.

Anyways- I think it's an old grommet or snap machine! I think those are grommets- you know on jeans.

Cheers!
