Visiting the MLB Fan Cave with Rachel from Fresh Home Magazine

Rachel and I under Rejuvenation's Astron-tri

Sometimes you meet the greatest friends in the most unexpected places. I met Rachel Deschepper a few years ago when she was working as an editor at the now defunct Portland Spaces magazine. She came into Rejuvenation for a story she was working on and we became fast friends! She has since moved to the big city and is now the online editor at Fresh Home magazine, which has been a great way to keep this long distance friendship going, since we get to mix business with pleasure a few times a year.

Rachel and I had our formal meeting, along with Liz from LD+A, at the beginning of my trip (see that post here), but we also went to check out the MLB Fan Cave, since it features Rejuvenation lights. We got a special VIP tour from the good folks at Major League Baseball- what a fun space they’ve created! Here are some of the highlights:

Rachel is a Royals fan, as you can see here. Me? I was raised watching the Yankees.

The Leadbetter in the MLB Fan cave

The Wall of TVs that allow cave dwellers Mike and Ryan to watch every single game of the 2011 MLB season.

This space is the ultimate boys’ hang out. We were tempted to linger and test out the pool and  and air hockey tables!

The picture doesn't do it justice, but this was a giant collage made for the All-Star Game.

Yes, I was playing tourist! Here I am between Ryan and Mike at the Fan Cave.

I took lots of photos and will post them soon, along with an interview with Tommy Rouse from Extreme Makeover Home Edition, since he was the art director on the MLB project. I was also able to snag a few photos while visiting Rachel’s office, so those will be coming along in a future post as well.
